About
Our Mission

Who we are

House of Rebirth was founded in 2019 and is led by Robyn La’Faye Crowe. We are a community based organization supporting trans people, especially Black trans women who are often left out, overlooked, and forced to figure things out on their own.

What started as responding to immediate needs has grown into a trusted space where people come for guidance, connection, and real support.

We do not just talk about change, we help people move through it. Whether it is housing navigation, connecting to resources, updating documents, or simply having a space to be seen and heard, our work is rooted in helping people move from survival to stability.

Our approach is simple. We meet people where they are, help them understand their options, and stand with them while they build something more secure for themselves.

House of Rebirth is about access, support, and making sure nobody has to do this alone.

Leadership

Founder & Executive Director

Robyn “Pocahontas” Crowe is a Black trans woman, community leader, and the founder of House of Rebirth. Since 2019, she has been on the frontlines supporting trans individuals, especially Black trans women, who are often overlooked and underserved.

What started as helping people navigate immediate needs has grown into a trusted space where people can come for real support, connection, and guidance. Robyn’s work is rooted in lived experience. She understands what it means to move through systems that were not built for you, and she has made it her mission to help others find their way through them.

Robyn also brings a strong background in HIV prevention, education, and community based support. She has worked closely with individuals navigating HIV care, prevention services, and overall wellness, creating space for honest conversations and making sure people have access to the care, information, and support they need without judgment.

Through House of Rebirth, she focuses on housing navigation, resource connection, name and gender marker support, and creating safe spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported. She is expanding the work to include support for trans individuals who are incarcerated, elders navigating healthcare and long term care systems, and trans parents who need community, stability, and guidance.

Robyn is known for meeting people where they are, being real about what support looks like, and making sure nobody has to figure things out alone. Her work sits at the intersection of housing, health, and community, helping people move from survival to stability with dignity and self determination.

From Our Community

Real experiences from individuals we’ve supported through our work.

“House of Rebirth didn’t just give me resources, they helped me figure out what my next step actually needed to be.”

“When I first connected with House of Rebirth, I didn’t know where to start. They helped me understand my options, connected me to resources, and stayed consistent through the process. That made all the difference.”

“There’s no place like home, and I didn’t understand that until I walked through the doors of House of Rebirth. That was the first time I felt safe, supported, and like I had a place where I actually belonged"

“Before I connected with House of Rebirth, I didn’t really have family or a support system. I was trying to figure everything out on my own. Being in this space changed that for me. I finally felt like I had people who genuinely cared. The love and support I received, especially from Pocah as a chosen mother, gave me a sense of stability I didn’t have before and changed the way I see myself and my future.”
